This Position reports to:

Production Manager

Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Operational Excellence Specialist, the intern will be responsible for designing and implementing a structured database to manage the traceability of excitation system components. This includes entering serial numbers, part numbers, revisions, and descriptions, as well as developing user-friendly forms and automated workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the existing Microsoft Access database and assess its potential for improvement or replacement.
  • Design the structure of a new database or an enhanced MS Access database to ensure data integrity, uniqueness, and traceability.
  • Develop input and approval forms with user-level access control.
  • Implement automated email notifications for approval workflows.
  • Ensure all records are timestamped and securely stored.
  • Enable offline access and synchronization capabilities.
  • Create reporting tools for data analysis and export (PDF, Excel).
  • Document the database structure and provide user guides.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to data management.

Desired Profile:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize (essential).
  • Proficiency in database design and development (essential).
  • Good knowledge of MS Access, SQL, or other database platforms (essential).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (essential).
  • Bilingual French/English (essential). French is required. English is also required for regular communication with customers outside Quebec.
  • Knowledge of automation or industrial systems (an asset).
  • Experience in form design and user interface development (an asset).
  • Understanding of basic electrical schematics or mechanical drawings (an asset).
  • Skills in creating scripts or programming macros in Excel (an asset).
