Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Director of Systems Innovation is currently seeking a Full Time Virtual Care & Digital Health Support Specialist-Clinical. The purpose of the position is to facilitate and support clinical VC & DH visits, competency development and direct care support. To support the development and delivery of patient focused VC & DH and other digital health services that support patient access across Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. To provide oversight for the overall functionality of specific VC & DH platforms, information systems and software.
Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provides collaborative support to develop, implement and evaluate VC & DH services programming
- Work with stakeholders to optimize the utilization of VC & DH services
- Acts as a subject matter expert to support VC & DH care delivery by creating and maintaining current state workflows including testing and troubleshooting. Works with internal staff and departments to optimize the utilization of VC & DH service delivery to clients.
- Receiving and triaging telemedicine and other virtual care referrals, linking with external partners & stakeholders across Ontario
- Works collaboratively with other provincial VC & DH specialists, OTN Regional Manager, Ontario Health, and others to meet provincial program and reporting requirements
- Provides oversight for VC & DH resources in collaboration with Waypoint departments and programs. This will include recommending the approval of OTN and other VC & DH equipment and software
- Monitoring of current resources, developing and maintaining related documentation including: referral tools, clinical documents, organizational policies, OTN and service provider contracts
- Provides live technical and troubleshooting support to Waypoint staff/physicians using telemedicine, Zoom Health, and other VC & DH resources to assist with videoconferencing consultations, family visits, meetings or education.
- Collaborates with the Director of System Innovation to collect, analyze and report data internal and external, as required on the utilization of VC & DH resources.
- Collaborates with vendors and service provides as needed to resolve issues and improve VC & DH service and client experience.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Nurse with registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working in a client service environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related field is preferred.
- Current Ontario Telemedicine network certification an asset.
- Virtual Care or Digital Health certifications and/or training an asset.
- Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
- Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values (Caring, Respect, Accountability, Innovation), and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
