Title: Technical Sales Representative, Greenhouse
Reports To: Paul Schlacht – Sales Manager Greenhouse
Summary: The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and providing technical support for our full line of horticultural products to commercial greenhouse vegetable and floriculture growers. This role focuses on achieving business targets through effective territory management, proactive customer visits, and technical consultation.
The successful candidate will build and sustain long-term business relationships with growers, and key accounts while maintaining a professional and knowledgeable image of the company in the marketplace.

Job Duties
- Develop and execute a sales plan to achieve or exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
- Visit commercial greenhouse vegetable and floriculture growers regularly to assess needs, provide technical support, and recommend suitable products.
- Promote and sell fertilizers, crop protection products, growing media, and related horticultural inputs.
- Provide agronomic and technical guidance to customers, including fertility programs, pest management, and crop production support.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key growers, and industry partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging trends within the greenhouse market.
- Coordinate with inside sales, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in trade shows, field days, grower tours, and educational seminars to represent the company and its product lines.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to growers, consultants, and industry groups as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activity, and market intelligence.
- Monitor competitive activity and provide feedback to management regarding pricing, promotions, and market positioning.
- Collaborate with suppliers and technical specialists to stay current on new product developments and innovations.
- Support credit and collections processes as needed to ensure accounts remain in good standing.
- Uphold company values of integrity, professionalism, and customer service excellence.
Requirements
- University or college degree
- Knowledge of Greenhouse operations and production systems.
- 3 years of work experience in horticulture (sales, production, and/or operations)
- Ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.
- Ability to qualify opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical problems
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethics.
- Professional demeanor, selling style, and appearance.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and/or passport.
- Experience with customer relationship management software and Windows software (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel is required, including several hours of driving per day.
- Ability to travel to, attend, and conduct presentations.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 25kg.
- Overtime as required
