The Ministry of Transportation's (MTO) Transportation Infrastructure Management Division's (TIMD) mandate is to provide a safe, efficient, reliable transportation system through planning, engineering, construction and other functions for the provincial highway network. TIMD is the biggest producer of data in MTO and relies on it to make critical decisions, such as where to rehabilitate and expand our highways or how to manage the multi-billion-dollar capital budget.
It is an exciting time in TIMD. We unified our data across MTO, making it accessible to all and leveraging it to deliver our mandates, solve our business problems and make delivering our business easier. We are helping find insights and making informed, data-driven decisions.

##About the job
In theBusiness Planning and Data Management Office, Infrastructure Data Management Section, you will:
- lead, plan and deliver the division's data vision, strategies and roadmap and uphold its data management and analytics framework
- standardize and optimize service delivery and processes to meet the division's data needs
- lead data teams in implementing data projects related to data unification, analytics and integration
- develop and deliver communications and change management for the division's adoption of the data management and analytics frameworks and mindset
- build data literacy and capability across the division for self-serve analytics
- lead and manage the data team, including coaching, assigning work, and overseeing completion
- develop and maintain positive collaborative relationships with the data team, business clients and data community across the division and ministry
- provide direction, advice, and support to divisional teams, partners, and senior management on data management and analytics
##What you bring to the team
###Technical knowledge and business acumen
- you have knowledge of data management and governance, quantitative analysis to research, develop and evaluate business solutions and information management needs
- you have knowledge of business lifecycle management, business modelling, process methodology, prototyping methodologies and reengineering methods
- you can align strategic directions and business objectives to projects
###Project and performance management skills
- you have experience leading complex projects that recommend business frameworks, processes, products, systems, and reporting improvements
- you have experience leading project teams, ensuring deadlines, budget and deliverables are met
- you can plan and coordinate the design of business solutions or of performance measurements and reporting
###Research, analysis and issues management skills
- you can conduct research, analysis, evaluation and problem-solving to assess information management, data assets and demand for data assets, and business solutions' impact on program and service delivery
- you can apply multiple statistical and analytical techniques to identify impacts and develop recommendations
- you have experience identifying and ensuring the effective resolution of issues
###Interpersonal and communication skills
- you have facilitation and relationship building skills to build partnerships and deliver advice and information with internal and external stakeholders
- you have persuasion and consulting skills to gain cooperation and promote projects and initiatives
- you can effectively write and deliver various products, including presentations, and communicate with a variety of audiences
