Reporting to the Superintendent, Engineering, the Senior Mining Engineer – Ground Control acts as an expert in geomechanics and underground excavation stability. He plays a strategic role in defining, implementing, and continuously improving ground control practices, ensuring their performance, compliance, and alignment with industry best practices.
In close collaboration with engineering, operations, and geology teams, he actively contributes to risk management, optimization of work methods, and operational safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and evolve ground support standards.
- Guide and support engineers and technicians in applying best practices.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise geotechnical inspection activities.
- Follow up on recommendations and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
- Actively participate in geotechnical risk management and incident analyses.
- Update and optimize the ground control program.
- Evaluate needs for geotechnical instrumentation and rehabilitation work.
- Collaborate with external consultants and ensure consistency in technical approaches.
- Contribute to planning and budget tracking related to ground control.
- Demonstrate strong leadership in health and safety.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, standards, and procedures.
- Perform any other related duties.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in ground control or geomechanics.
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
- Valid general explosives permit.
- Completed FMTM modules.
- Proficiency in Deswik software.
