Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Centre for Healthy Communities and working closely with the Senior Research Specialist, the successful candidate will collaborate with Loyalist College staff and community partners to contribute to meaningful, community-driven research.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature review(s)
  • Assist with secondary and primary data collection and organization
  • Support the development of data collection tools and participant recruitment strategy
  • Assist with Research Ethics Board application development and submission
  • Support with data organization, storage, and analysis
  • Provide insight into best practices for Social Prescribing programs and their implementation
  • Support community consultation events for program design, under guidance of Principal Investigator
  • Contact vendors and community partners as required for program design logistics
  • Support the development of community partner training materials and workshops for program implementation
  • Assist with delivery of training sessions for community partners
  • Assist with development and execution of program evaluation tools
  • Assist with development of final report and other knowledge mobilization materials including training packages, toolkits, conference/seminar presentations, academic publications etc.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigator and Student Research Assistant(s) on tasks as required
  • Support communications and relationships with community stakeholders/partners

Qualifications

  • Completion of a 2-year post secondary diploma or equivalent in a social, health, or business-related program
  • Experience with research preferred
  • Experience developing or supporting community partnerships
  • Knowledge of social prescribing considered an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Demonstrated skills working on a team
