- Secondary School Diploma
- Food Service Worker Certificate
- Food Handler’s Certificate (course offered by the Public Health Unit)
- Previous experience in long-term care food service
- Excellent knowledge of HACCP program
- Meet requirements of a Physical Demand Analysis (PDA) for the position
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for residents
- Satisfy the nutritional needs of residents by following therapeutic menu plans
- Prioritize daily job tasks in order to ensure completion
- Promote trust, respect, and cooperation with co-workers through open and honest dialogue
- Demonstrate courtesy, a positive attitude, responsibility and excellence
- Attend work on a regular basis
- Attend in-services to upgrade or improve skills and knowledge
- Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Carry on duties as assigned by Dietary Manager and Food Service Supervisor
