Christianson TDS in Portage la Prairie is currently seeking a Desktop Support Analyst to join our team. Operating within the context of TDS IT security protocol, the Systems Support Administrator will work under the direction of the Director of Operations (CTDS), and in partnership with the TDS Winnipeg Information Technology (IT) department and contribute to the firm’s success by assisting with the overall management and maintenance of IT systems and services, including staff training, ongoing support, and problem solving within the full scope of the department. Provides back-up support to the Receptionist and Office Administrator.

This position is responsible for aspects of the following areas:
- IT Management and planning
- Network and Server Infrastructure Management
- Systems and Application Management and Training
- Electronic Shared File Management
- Policy and Procedure Management
- Digital Documentation
- Staff Onboarding and Training Support
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain all IT systems, applications, and hardware, including administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident resolution; coordinate with internal IT teams and external vendors; and manage procurement of equipment and software.
- Lead IT projects and technology improvements — plan and implement initiatives, research and evaluate new technologies, and recommend enhanced procedures and policies to meet evolving business needs.
- Ensure reliable and secure technology operations — maintain system documentation, manage passwords and software updates, enforce IT standards and security best practices, and support incident response and communication during outages.
- Deploy and configure desktop systems, peripherals, and related equipment, including regular subscription software, patches, and security updates.
- Administer new and existing user accounts (domain, Exchange mailboxes, software applications) and manage access rights and permissions.
- Assess, approve, and manage equipment, hardware, and software upgrades, including coordinating warranty and parts replacement.
- Support business applications — review existing systems for effectiveness, recommend improvements or replacements, and maintain the CTDS SharePoint site for shared file content.
- Deliver training and provide day-to-day user support — answer hardware/software questions, design and deliver system training, and ensure applications meet business and end-user needs.
- Provide ticket handling and resolution for supported systems and hardware, collaborating with external support technicians as needed.
- Manage storage, backups, and virus/endpoint security protection mechanisms.
- Provide on-call rotation for off-hour support.
- Order IT supplies as needed.
Technical Qualifications
- Post-Secondary diploma in Computer Systems or Information Technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in an IT support role.
- Experience deploying, configuring and maintaining Windows-based operating systems.
- Experience administering Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange platforms.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Experience deploying, configuring and maintain Mac-based operating systems
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN networking administration, including routing, switching, VLANs, wireless LANs, VPNs, and firewalls
- Strong administration, research skills, and solution finding skills
- Experience using and setting up office equipment; printers, scanners, binding machine, and mail processing, collating and documentation preparation
