MARKETING MANAGER – CANADA LOCATION: Canada (Halifax with Hybrid Schedule or Montreal with Remote Schedule) LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: English and French REPORTS TO: VP of Marketing STATUS: Full Time ROLE OVERVIEW Marketing Manager – Canada leads the development and execution of marketing initiatives that build brand awareness, drive trial, strengthen customer loyalty, and support sales growth across the Canadian market. This role serves as a key steward of the Cove brand in Canada, helping ensure that all marketing efforts are locally relevant, commercially effective, and aligned with Cove’s broader brand strategy. The Marketing Manager is a hands-on marketer who combines strategic thinking with strong execution skills. They should be comfortable managing campaigns, coordinating agency and vendor partners, supporting retail and field marketing efforts, working cross-functionally with sales and operations, and using data to optimize performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Brand & Marketing Strategy · Lead the execution of Cove’s marketing strategy in Canada, ensuring alignment with overall brand positioning and business priorities. · Translate broader company objectives into localized Canadian marketing plans and campaigns. · Help shape annual and quarterly marketing calendars tied to product launches, promotions, retail priorities, and seasonal opportunities. · Serve as a key voice for the Canadian consumer, competitive landscape, and market trends. Campaign Development & Execution · Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, influencer, retail, experiential, and trade channels. · Manage campaign timelines, creative development, production needs, and launch coordination. · Support product launches and innovation rollouts with clear go-to-market plans for the Canadian market. · Ensure messaging, creative, and activations are consistent with brand standards while resonating with Canadian audiences.
Retail, Shopper & Trade Marketing · Partner closely with the sales team to support national accounts, key retail partners, and distributor relationships in Canada. · Develop shopper marketing materials, sell-in support tools, in-store activation concepts, promotional programs, and retailer-specific marketing assets. · Help identify and execute sampling, event, and field marketing opportunities that drive trial and awareness. · Support trade shows, customer presentations, and account-specific initiatives as needed. Digital & Social Marketing · Work with internal and external partners to execute digital campaigns across paid, owned, and earned channels. · Support Canadian social media programming, local content creation, community engagement, and influencer activations. · Coordinate with agencies, freelancers, and content creators to deliver strong, on-brand assets and programs. · Monitor digital performance and recommend optimizations based on engagement, reach, conversion, and ROI. Budget & Vendor Management · Manage the Canadian marketing budget with attention to efficiency, accountability, and impact. · Track program spend, reconcile invoices, and help ensure resources are allocated to the highest-value initiatives. · Oversee relationships with agencies, designers, printers, event vendors, and other marketing partners. Analytics & Reporting · Track, analyze, and report on marketing performance, including campaign effectiveness, promotional ROI, consumer engagement, and retail support outcomes. · Use market data, consumer insights, and internal sales results to inform recommendations and improve future programs. · Maintain regular reporting on key initiatives for leadership. Cross-Functional Collaboration · Partner with sales, operations, finance, product, and leadership teams to ensure strong execution across all initiatives. · Support communication and alignment across teams as Cove expands its presence in Canada. · Cross-functional collaboration, communication and alignment with US Marketing Team to ensure consistency across the brand and North American success. · Help build processes, tools, and workflows that improve marketing efficiency and executional consistency. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field. · 5+ years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within CPG, beverage, wellness, food, or lifestyle brands. · Experience supporting Canadian retail and consumer marketing programs. · Bilingual – French and English · Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. · Experience with campaign planning, retail marketing, digital/social execution, and agency/vendor management. · Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where resourcefulness and initiative are important. · Strong communication and presentation skills. · Analytical mindset with experience using data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform decisions. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; familiarity with marketing analytics platforms and project management tools is a plus. · Willingness to travel as needed for marketing activations and meetings Preferred Experience · Experience in beverage, functional wellness, or other high-growth consumer brands. · Familiarity with major Canadian retailers, distributors, and regional market dynamics. · Experience with product launches, sampling programs, ambassador/influencer campaigns, and grassroots marketing. · Bilingual English/French is a plus, but not required.
