Your Opportunity

BDO Canada provides a comprehensive suite of services to support Financial Leaders across Canada. As a Consultant within our growing Finance Effectiveness & Transformation practice, you will have the unique opportunity to join at the ground level of an exciting and evolving team. This is more than a consulting role. It's a chance to help shape a new practice, influence how we deliver value to clients, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address some of the most pressing challenges facing finance organizations today. As an integrator of corporate governance, process transformation, performance management, technology implementation, and business strategy, you will work directly with finance executives to optimize shareholder value and transform the finance function. To be successful, you will

Work collaboratively with project teams to gather information, analyze client challenges, and support stakeholder interviews. Assist in developing analyses, recommendations, and client-ready presentations. Contribute to the delivery of client engagements across a variety of projects, including finance process improvement, system implementation, and operating model design. Conduct research, perform analysis, and help identify opportunities to address client issues and improve business processes. Support project teams by tracking activities, preparing status updates, and assisting with workplan execution. How do we define success for your role? You build a strong understanding of BDO’s Finance Effectiveness & Transformation practice, including our service offerings, methodologies, tools, and client delivery approach. You consistently produce high-quality work products, including analyses, documentation, meeting materials, and client-ready deliverables. You contribute to client engagements by gathering information, conducting research, performing analysis, and supporting the development of practical recommendations. You work effectively with project teams, take ownership of assigned tasks, and communicate progress, risks, and questions in a timely manner. You actively develop your consulting, finance transformation, technology, and project delivery skills through hands-on engagement work, coaching, and professional development. You contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, and learning-oriented team environment.

Your Experience and Education

Completed undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials. An accounting designation (CPA) or relevant master’s degree is preferred. 1-4 years of relevant work experience in finance or consulting. Deep expertise in financial management disciplines, such as financial process design, budgeting and planning, financial reporting, financial performance management, analytics and data modelling, and business case development. Experience with, or interest in, acquiring knowledge of systems and technologies that support the finance function, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365, SAP, Oracle, Blackline, Workiva, etc. Strong commitment to professional client service excellence. Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions. Proven analytical skills and systematic problem solving. Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel. Canadian travel required; occasional international travel. Candidates must be able to enter the USA to work on client assignments. The expected range of compensation for this role is $60,000 - $90,000 annually.
