What you’ll be doing
The Social Media and Emerging Platforms (SMEP) team within Brand, Community and Client Experience is responsible for developing enterprise social media marketing content that drives the brand and the business. As the Coordinator, Social Media Marketing, you are accountable for supporting this center of excellence team that leads the social strategy, planning, implementation and reporting of all organic Social Media activities for the Enterprise, as well as creative effectiveness stewardship for all paid social media.. The position will work with a robust ecosystem of different stakeholders including Brand and Business Partner Marketing partners, Corporate Communications/PR, Agencies and Vendors to further the adoption and integration of Social Media throughout the Enterprise. You will be positioned to both build the CIBC brand through Purpose-driven storytelling, content coordination, and effective social media management.

How you'll succeed
- Enterprise social media coordination, planning and delivery – Deliver best-in-class social creative and plans, working with cross-functional teams including agencies, internal channel partners, PR & communications, media, and internal design teams.
- Develop creative briefs and own Intakes for organic social media creative. You will need to monitor, analyze, and report on organic social media to identify areas of opportunity, setting targets and timelines for social media programs and key initiatives.
- You will need to organize and manage content into a user-friendly library that is compliant with internal standards, and develop and maintain a process workflow that ensures consistent execution and delivery of social media.
- Support development of social media listening reports and regular reviews of enterprise content activity, and will proactively seek out new opportunities to find better ways to work and achieve our goals.
- Lead execution of corporate governance routines to ensure compliance with internal procedures and mitigate potential operational and reputational risk.
- Share cutting-edge news and capabilities with partners and across the team, so as to build our team’s reputation as thought leaders. As subject matter expert, you'll provide social media expertise and implementation for SMEP scope within Enterprise programs where applicable, staying on top of new and emerging social platform trends in the market, and perform research and share social media learnings with team members by championing best practices and processes.
- Employee Advocacy Social Media Support (Mortgage Advisor Channel): Partnering with Mobile Advice line of business to deliver effective employee advocacy framework for the Mobile Advisor Channel that supports both brand building and social selling. The Coordinator, Social Media will curate and share relevant and engaging content for Mortgage Advisor social media, manage a shared mailbox responding to Advisor inquiries and providing coaching, guidance and governance support as required.
Who you are
- Education: Undergraduate Degree or Diploma
- Demonstrated experience in social media planning and content coordination (1-2 years minimum)
- Demonstrated experience in social media governance within an Enterprise ecosystem
- Relationship building and stakeholder management with experience working in or with matrixed organizations. Experience managing creative and media agencies or partners is an asset.
- Strong communication skills - Both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Experience using, and a deep understanding of the nuances of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube
- Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Proficiency in social media management and social media listening solutions is an asset (i.e.. Sprinklr, Hootsuite)
- Competent writing skills, with a talent for crafting impactful messaging that is appropriate for the social channel being used
- Ability to write an informative brief that clearly and confidently articulates vision and process
- Ability to translate direction from leadership into social media deliverables
- Ability to self-start and accomplish multiple priorities
