Why You?
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative self-starter who wants to make an impact on our organization and community as a Parks & Facilities Casual. As a strong team player, you will take a “Community First” approach to performing all assigned parks and facilities maintenance operational duties including:
- Maintenance and operations of outdoor rinks and trails
- General labour related duties including waste collection, tree trimming and pruning
- Providing parks and parking lot maintenance and operating various pieces of equipment
- Park and turf maintenance, horticulture/gardening, general facility maintenance and cleaning, general repairs and painting, as well as special event setup and take down
- Ice maintenance, snow removal, park and turf maintenance
- Snow clearing activities at our Town-owned facilities and parking lots throughout the community
Job Requirements
The preferred candidate holds:

A high school diploma or a recognized equivalent.

Operational experience associated with ice resurfacing and turf maintenance equipment.

Experience in landscaping, horticulture, and sports field maintenance are all preferred.

Experience with operating heavy equipment, snow plowing on medium to large-sized vehicles and sidewalk machines.

The following certifications/licenses are considered assets: Basic Refrigeration Course, Standard First Aid/CPR certification, and certifications as both Certified Parks Technician (C.P.T.) and Certified Ice Technician (C.I.T.).

A valid Class G driver’s license in good standing is required, as is the willingness to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

A valid DZ license is an asset.
