As a member of the Acquisition and Disposition (A&D) Accounting group, the Operations Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing, analyzing and recording Interim and Final Statements of Adjustments (ISOA’s/FSOA’s) for North America E&P A&D activity.

  • Job location: Calgary, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2, 8-hour shifts
  • Safety sensitive position: No

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify, analyze and prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to facilitate the monthly close and quarterly reporting for A&D
  • Analyze and prepare ISOA’s and FSOA’s for all A&D activity
  • Liaise with various internal and external accounting and operations departments to ensure effective and accurate ISOA/FSOA preparation
  • Analyze and prepare schedules/accounting entries for gains/losses and fair value adjustments
  • Identify and recommend process improvements
  • Special projects as assigned

What You Bring to the Role:

  • 7+ years of accounting experience with progressive responsibilities; related University degree
  • Accounting designation preferred
  • Expertise in:
    • Financial and operations accounting
    • Experience with complex accounting transactions
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to meet key deliverable deadlines within a short time frame
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
    • Ability to work independently and adapt to change quickly, including change driven by technology
  • Familiarity with and understanding of:
    • Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
    • EnterpriseOne
    • Reporting tools such as FDAP
