Our Calgary Head Office is seeking aHuman Resources Summer Studentto support our diverse operating companies.This is a full-time, in office position from May through August 2026.
Description:
The Human Resources Summer Student, under the guidance of the HR Advisors, will provide administrative and recruiting support and assistance to the Human Resources team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support for the HR function, including but not limited to processing new hire paperwork, data entry, letters, announcements, reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and coordination and completion of office tasks including filing, faxing, scanning, photocopying, etc.
- Update employee personnel files and employee databases ensuring accuracy.
- Support recruitment efforts by conducting references, preparing New Hire Offers, and maintaining Applicant Tracking System (VidCruiter).
- Assist with coordination of the new employee orientation and on boarding process.
- Lead and support the migration of driver’s licence and abstract tracking and deadline management from the LMS to the HRIS to improve compliance and reporting.
- Support payroll and benefits administration.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
- Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Recent completion of (or current enrolment in) post-secondary program with a focus in Human Resources or Business Administration is required.
- Experience in Customer Service industry would be considered an asset.
- Organizational, and prioritization skills, with high attention to detail.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Relationship building skills and ability to function effectively in teams.
- Ability to work in a confidential capacity with a high level of professionalism.
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with HRIS applications an asset.
- Professional, punctual, meticulous and diligent.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive member of the EFC Team.
