Our Western Canada Transportation team is looking for a Structural Bridge Engineer to join our team. This role can be based in Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. We work with Provincial and local municipalities, as well as select contracting partners and owners, on small to large scale projects across the whole Transportation spectrum of highways, roads and bridges, rail, transit, multi-modal infrastructure, and transportation planning. We provide integrated transportation services throughout the project lifecycle from planning through detailed design and construction administration.

Responsibilities
- Successful participation in and completion of multi-disciplined bridge projects
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff
- Collaboration in small and large teams. Leading the integration with other engineering disciplines, engineers, and design staff in the production of high-quality project deliverables
- Production of conceptual design, detailed design, technical specifications, cost estimates and reports
- Carry out project coordination or project management tasks, including project planning, scheduling, financial controls, monthly reporting and deliverable tracking
- Lead or contribute to the development of proposals
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative and productive relationships with all employees, clients and other stakeholders
- Carry out detailed inspections of existing structure including bridge, culvert and retaining walls
Education
- University Degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- P.Eng. registration or the ability to become registered in the province of Alberta.
Experience
- 6+ years of experience in design and engineering of bridge and other transportation structures including culvert projects
- Familiarity with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), BC Supplement to the CHBDC, AASHTO and other bridge design codes
- Experience with CSI Bridge, SAP2000 or Midas Civil modelling software
- Experience in new design and rehabilitation design of bridges, culverts, and other civil structures.
- AREMA, CN Rail, CPKC Rail or other Class 1 experience are considered an asset
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to interact effectively within all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion
- Experience managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a demanding consulting environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate work to meet required deadlines while complying with procedures and best practices
- Seismic design knowledge is considered an asset
- Experience with Tender document preparation and interpretation based on different government agencies (MMCD, Schedule 3, Schedule 7, etc.)
- Construction inspection, construction administration and familiarity with condition ratings are considered assets
- Commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative thinking and improved results
Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 depending on experience.
