Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position Summary Our Lab at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC), in partnership with Polytechnique Montréal, is seeking a Cloud & Application Support Programmer to join our multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and supporting digital health platforms, deploying and integrating applications across multiple access points, and contributing to the development of new patient-facing tools.
This full-time position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of healthcare, engineering, and digital innovation, collaborating closely with clinicians, researchers, engineers, and patient partners to advance the next generation of digital health solutions.
General Duties
- Maintain and support cloud-based digital health platforms, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
- Provide technical expertise in the implementation and integration of patient portals and other digital health platforms.
- Contribute to the development of standalone applications and digital tools to support patient engagement and clinical research.
- Assist in the deployment of digital health applications across multiple access points (web, mobile, and patient-facing portals).
- Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and engineers to advance innovative digital health initiatives.
- Ensure regular system updates, troubleshooting, and documentation to support sustainability and knowledge transfer.
- Support testing, evaluation, and quality assurance to maintain the reliability and scalability of digital health solutions.

Education: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Work Experience: 2-5 years
Required Skills
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and application deployment.
- Strong skills in software maintenance, troubleshooting, and system integration.
- Familiarity with web and mobile application environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with researchers, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document technical processes clearly.
- Experience in digital health, health informatics, or clinical research environments.
- Knowledge of patient portal implementation or healthcare systems integration.
- Experience with DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, containerization, cloud automation).
- Familiarity with data privacy and security standards in healthcare (e.g., PIPEDA, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with testing, evaluation, or quality assurance of digital platforms.
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: $55,692.00 – $103,412.40/year. Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
Work Site: 5252 boul. de Maisonneuve
