Senior AI Engineer (Remote | North America Preferred)

We're partnering with an established and profitable fintech software company that's investing heavily in the future of AI. Their software is already trusted by banks and financial institutions across North America, and they're now looking for their first dedicated AI Engineer to lead the development of the next generation of intelligent compliance products.

This isn't a research role or a chance to build AI demos.

You'll be responsible for designing, building and launching production-grade AI solutions that automate complex investigative workflows, reduce manual effort and help financial institutions detect money laundering and financial crime more effectively.

If you're excited by solving real-world problems with Agentic AI, LLMs and Machine Learning—and want to own an AI product from concept through to production—this is a genuinely unique opportunity.

The Opportunity Working alongside experienced product leaders, software engineers and compliance specialists, you'll take ownership of a flagship AI initiative that has executive sponsorship and clear commercial backing. Rather than joining a large AI team, you'll become the technical lead for a major AI programme, helping define architecture, select technologies and build production-ready AI capabilities that customers will use every day. You'll have the autonomy to make technical decisions while working closely with domain experts to transform complex business problems into intelligent software.

What You'll Be Doing Design and build production Agentic AI solutions using LLMs, Machine Learning and modern AI frameworks. Translate complex business requirements into scalable AI products. Develop intelligent workflows that automate investigation, analysis and decision support. Build robust AI services using Python and modern cloud technologies. Evaluate new AI models, frameworks and tooling to continuously improve the platform. Lead AI architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices. Validate, test and optimise AI systems for performance, explainability and reliability. Work directly with customers and subject matter experts to iterate quickly and deliver measurable business value.

What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a genuine passion for building AI products.

You'll likely have experience with: Building production AI applications using LLMs and Agentic AI Python and modern AI frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face, PyTorch or TensorFlow Prompt engineering, RAG and multi-agent workflows Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure API development and modern software architecture Taking products from idea through to production Working directly with business stakeholders to solve complex problems

Experience within financial services, fraud detection, AML or compliance would be advantageous, but it's not essential. What's more important is your ability to understand complex domains quickly and build intelligent software that delivers real commercial value.
