The Opportunity

The Student Recruitment Assistant will support Keyano College’s Recruitment team in engaging prospective students and promoting Keyano programs at on-campus and community events. This position is ideal for an outgoing, dependable student who enjoys interacting with others and contributing to community outreach efforts.

Note: this is not a remote work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Domestic Recruitment team during campus events, community events, and High school presentations.
  • Engage warmly and professionally with prospective students, families, and community members.
  • Provide general information about Keyano College programs, services, student life, and speak to your student experience.
  • Support event logistics including setup, takedown, materials organization, and booth management.
  • Help track event attendance or registration as needed.
  • Represent Keyano College positively and uphold college values at all events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support recruitment initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Must be a current Keyano College student during the employment term.

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts.

  • Comfortable engaging with the public and initiating conversations.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Availability for occasional evening or weekend events.

Assets

  • Previous customer service, public engagement, or event support experience.

  • Familiarity with Keyano College programs, services, and student supports.

  • Interest in recruitment, communications, or community outreach.

Compensation and Benefits

CUPE Student Rate - $20.43 per hour, 5-8 hours per week.
