Accountabilities

  • Support the development and delivery of market access strategy, including pre-launch planning, portfolio assessment and CDA, INESSS, Provincial and Private Payer submissions, through to formulary listing.
  • Develop the payer BIAs.
  • Support cross-functional development and execution of key strategic imperatives to support reimbursement objectives.
  • Provide access assessment, critical appraisal, evidence gap identification, and external engagement to build reimbursement strategies throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Partner with payer evidence manager on key elements of brand-specific access strategy implementation.
  • Leverage brand expertise to support the development of pCPA and private payer negotiation strategies for priority files.
  • Cultivate partnerships with the Global Organization to understand and support the Market Access needs of the business.
  • Seek new insights as well as environmental trends to develop foresight to build strategies and plans.
  • Participate in local, national and global-cross functional teams to address and support market access needs within the business.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders & reimbursement experts to ensure that AstraZeneca Canada market access initiatives are relevant and support the needs of patients, health care providers and payers.
  • Responsible for collecting and reporting Adverse Events in accordance with AstraZeneca policies and procedures.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree science, social sciences or business
  • 3+ years of Pharmaceutical experience and/or 5+ years Market Access experience
  • Experience in market access, regulatory, new product planning, pricing, evidence generation, or commercial with in-depth knowledge of the Canadian drug reimbursement landscape (HTA and pCPA processes, public/private payers, health policies)
  • Experience constructing payer value stories and incorporating these into strategies and submissions
  • Experience with CDA, INESSS and pCPA processes
  • Strategically agile with strong business acumen and can synthesize information from diverse sources to formulate strategies and actions
  • Critical thinking to objectively appraise clinical evidence, budget impact analyses, and pharmacoeconomic submission materials with detailed, analytical skills in reviewing clinical submission materials and financial workup.
  • Energized by working with ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to think creatively in developing and implementing business solutions
  • Strong communication skills: interpersonal, writing and presentation
  • Adaptive style with ability to influence and build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • High degree of initiative and sense of urgency with an ability to manage multiple priorities of significant scope in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills/Experience

An advanced degree in science, business (MSc, MBA) highly preferred.
