WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

The Clinical Nutrition Program is an inpatient program that reports to the Manager, Clinical Nutrition. The Registered Dietitian will provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, reassessment, and development of appropriate nutritional care plans, counselling, and education to patients, both adult and pediatric. The Clinical Nutrition Program is an inpatient program.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science degree program major in Nutrition or recognized equivalent

  • Registration (in good standing) with the College of Dietitians of Ontario

  • Two (2) years’ recent experience as a Registered Dietitian required with preference given to those who possess acute hospital experience

  • Experience in nutrition support (EN & PN), renal disease, diabetes and nutrition through the life cycle (including pediatrics)

  • Knowledge of food preparation and food allergies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written as well as organizational, problem-solving and time management skills

  • Possess confidence and ability to work independently and be self-directed while being a member of the inter-professional team

  • Ability to read, write and communicate professionally and courteously in English

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position

  • Ability to regularly attend work in accordance with the Attendance Support Program

  • Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values and Code of Conduct

WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:

  • Diabetes Educator certificate

  • Familiarity with computerized nutrition and food systems

HOURS:

The successful candidate must be available to work on all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department and be able to commit to the non-availability standards outlined in the Collective Agreement.
