JOB INFORMATION
The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our Revenue Operations team as a Revenue Collector. This overnight role involves the secure collection and transport of fare receipts and assets from various stations and divisional offices to our central processing facility.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to upholding TTC’s safety and operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely collect and transport unprocessed revenue receipts from subway stations and divisional offices to our designated processing facility.
- Operate a secure, alarm-equipped armored vehicle in compliance with established operational protocols.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, including alarm functionality checks, monitoring oil and fuel levels, refueling as needed, and reporting any maintenance or repair requirements.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and readiness during non-operational periods.
- Provide coverage for the Crew Chief role when necessary, ensuring continuity of operations.
- Foster a respectful and inclusive environment for passengers and colleagues, with particular attention to accommodating individuals with disabilities in alignment with applicable human rights legislation.
- Complete specialized training in loss prevention and robbery deterrence techniques.
- Successfully complete departmental instruction covering operational procedures, safety protocols, and security practices.
- Acquire working knowledge of Ontario Human Rights Code and accessibility standards, with emphasis on inclusive service and workplace accommodations.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proven ability to comprehend and execute both written and verbal instructions with precision.
- Excellent communication skills, coupled with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated physical capability to handle heavy materials and maneuver through stairways or confined areas.
- Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to work independently during overnight hours.
- Ability to work closely with a small team to coordinate tasks, streamline operations, and ensure logistical processes run smoothly and effectively.
- Successful completion of a background screening and physical fitness evaluation is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A combination of education, training, and experience deemed to be equivalent
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license (non-probationary) in good standing with the ability to upgrade to a DZ license. (see Drivers Abstract requirements)
