About the role

Remote - Canada: This role has the opportunity to be fully remote. If you are the successful candidate and reside in the Lower Mainland, BC, it is a hybrid position that would occasionally require some in-office attendance, subject to the needs of the business.

Hours: The required working hours for this role are 9:00am-5:00pm Pacific time, regardless of your location.

What You’ll Do

In this role on our Creative team, you'll be at the forefront of our content creation, driving the ideation and development of compelling, data-driven stories. You will leverage your deep understanding of platforms like YouTube, as well as your passion for storytelling, to create content that resonates with our audience and maximizes engagement. Your expertise in research, analysis, design, and copywriting will enable you to craft captivating narratives that effectively serve our clients' objectives.

The Content Lead takes charge of content projects, effectively translating insights into impactful narratives. Working closely with creative and production teams, the role ensures the consistency and quality of content across all platforms. The Digital Content Lead also evaluates the performance of content initiatives, refines strategies, and implements innovative solutions to improve audience engagement. Staying updated with current trends, the role is responsible for introducing fresh and relevant ideas, continually elevating our content creation process. The Content Lead also collaborates closely with client stakeholders, understanding their business objectives, and translating them into effective content strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop immersive, compelling stories using extensive experience and a deep-seated passion for storytelling.
  • Leverage an in-depth understanding of the YouTube platform to craft and adapt content for maximum reach and engagement.
  • Use research data to inform and drive content strategies, turning insights into actionable plans.
  • Work closely with the creative and production teams to ensure the consistency and quality of content across all digital platforms.
  • Evaluate the performance of content initiatives, applying findings to refine strategies and create more impactful content.
  • Stay updated with current industry trends, technologies, and standards, implementing them into your work where relevant.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into creative content strategies.
  • Establish and maintain content standards, systems, and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, and content repurposing.
  • Test and implement innovative content solutions to continually improve audience engagement and conversion rates.
  • Work with creative teams to conceptualize and refine creative ideas into compelling content for weekly long-form videos designed to keep kids engaged for 3-8 minutes as well as short-form videos.

Skills and proficiencies

  • Ability to lead and collaborate with a diverse team of writers, designers, motion designers, strategists, and project managers to execute content with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with proven experience working on multiple videos at one time.
  • Proven experience in audience research and translating insights into effective content.
  • Solid background in copywriting and storytelling, with a strong visual sensibility.
  • Ability to stay abreast of current content and platform trends, as well as cultural shifts.
  • Proficiency in creating compelling text, image, and video content that captures audience attention.
  • Deep understanding of narrative structures, including creating engaging hooks and transforming simple ideas into compelling narratives.
  • Prior experience with content creation specifically for YouTube.
  • Familiarity with the child and youth market and understanding of their content consumption patterns.
  • A keen eye for design trends and techniques, coupled with a focus on continual improvement of marketing effectiveness.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the content creation process, from concept to execution.
  • Comfort presenting ideas and sharing insights with both internal teams and external client stakeholders.

Security

Successful candidates will have experience in managing sensitive information, underscored by a clear understanding of and adherence to confidentiality and data protection principles.

Salary Range

Our pay range is $115,000 - $125,000 CAD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as market location, job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
