Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director, Benefits, the Manager, Benefits is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of HOOPP’s wellness program, as well as the management of disability management and workplace accommodation programs. The role also supports the Associate Director in the ongoing design, implementation, and evaluation of HOOPP’s benefits program, ensuring a seamless employee experience and alignment with HOOPP’s Total Rewards philosophy.
Using data-driven insights, the Manager continuously evolves HOOPP’s market-competitive and inclusive programs that differentiate HOOPP as an employer of choice. The role ensures effective program administration, service excellence, and compliance, while partnering across HR and with external vendors to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

What You Will Do
Wellness Program
- Lead the design and delivery of HOOPP’s holistic wellness strategy that promotes employee wellbeing, psychological safety, and alignment with HOOPP’s objectives related to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and hybrid work.
- Conduct data-driven program reviews to assess effectiveness, competitiveness, and cost efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and service delivery, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor industry trends and apply best practices to continuously evolve the program.
- Build HOOPP’s external reputation as a top employer by engaging with peer plans and pursuing external recognition opportunities.
- Collaborate across HR and the broader organization to ensure integrated delivery of benefits, wellness, and leave programs.
- Manage and evaluate relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring service quality, cost-effectiveness, and positive employee experience.
- Partner with Communications to deliver clear, engaging internal and external program communications.
- Analyze quarterly data to identify employee health trends and shape evidence-based programs.
Disability, Accommodation, and Leave Management

Manage disability claims alongside the team, ensuring confidentiality, compliance, and compassionate support. Partner with Employee Relations on disability cases where required. Work closely with third-party vendors in managing claims.

Manage medical accommodation requests alongside the team; partner with HOOPP’s corporate physician to develop and implement plans, engaging leaders and employees to ensure support and success of the accommodation plan. Work closely with third-party vendors in managing requests, as required.

Provide guidance and advisory support to HR Business Partners and people leaders on disability and accommodation practices.

Review data and trends to inform continuous program improvement.
Benefits Program

Partner with the Associate Director, Benefits, to design, renew, and evaluate HOOPP’s Canadian and UK benefits programs, ensuring alignment with the Total Rewards strategy and market competitiveness.

Provide analytical and operational support during annual renewals, vendor reviews, and budget planning processes.

Collaborate with the Associate Director to assess benefits utilization, monitor vendor performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Support the coordination and delivery of benefits communications to ensure clarity and consistency.

Stay current with best practices and actively participate in external professional networks.

Leverage data insights to develop and maintain an evidence-based benefits program.

What You Bring
- University degree and/or college diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is an asset.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in wellness and benefits, including program design, implementation, and management informed by data insights; consulting or advisory background is an asset.
- 2–4 years of direct experience managing disability, accommodation, and leave cases.
- Strong vendor management skills and experience overseeing third-party service providers.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, planning, and pro-active problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering results.
- Relationship-focused, with a track record of providing thoughtful advisory support.
- Global benefits and wellness exposure is an asset.
