Posting Period: December 3, 2025 - December 9, 2025 Position Summary To prepare food for service to Residents, staff and visitors in the cafeteria, and for catering functions following the established menu and standardized recipes and to perform dishwashing duties in keeping with appropriate standards and guidelines for the department and in accordance with the Ministry of Health LTC standards, The Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Public Health Act.
Required Qualifications And Experience
- Cook’s diploma course from an established college as listed in the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Act, 2002 or a registered private college in Ontario.
- Successful completion of an Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program is an asset
- Previous LTC experience.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English
Role Responsibilities
- Prepares hot and cold food items for Residents, Staff Cafeteria, MOW, Hildegard and Catering.
- Use the menu rotation and production sheets with standardized recipes.
- Ensures proper rotation of all food items in storage.
- Uses safe food handling procedures.
- Indicates correct portion sizes of food.
- Set up steam tables with food before MOW meal service.
- Reports safety hazards and equipment problems immediately to supervisor and/or manager.
- Participates in staff and production meetings and in-services.
