About the role

Overview The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for managing the relationship with he 3PL provider of the Footlocker distribution facility. This position will be responsible for ensuring the 3PL is driving improvement in operational efficiencies, cost control and reduction, safety, team member utilization, production, quality and operational procedures adherence. This role will be responsible for managing the contractual agreement with the 3PL in partnership with legal with the objective that all requirements within the agreement are being achieved.

This role will be located onsite in the Milton, Canadian facility.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively monitor the day-to-day operations of the 3PL to ensure excellent performance in safety, quality, service, and cost as expected per the agreement with the provider.
  • Determine and implement short-term and long-term objectives for the 3PL based on the goals & objectives set by the VP of Supply Chain for Footlocker.
  • Owner of developing & maintaining a strategic partnership with the selected 3PL vendor to support company long term growth objectives within the market.
  • Support 3PL staffing plans to meet demand be partnering with 3PL DC leadership team on reviewing sales objectives & trends as predicated by Footlocker commercial & planning teams.
  • Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives to continuously improve overall cost structure and customer experience.
  • Continuously assess 3PL current and future capabilities to determine ability of 3PL to continue to meet Footlocker’s short and long term needs to mitigate any risk to the company.
  • Responsible for validating & approving any capital request from 3PL not within the statement of work to be in alignment with the Footlocker capital asset request process.
  • Responsible for providing weekly & monthly reviews of key metrics for 3PL performance to Footlocker executive team across key metrics.
  • Must strategically vet other potential 3PL’s to have contingency plans in place to mitigate any risks if current 3PL’s performance is not maintained to Footlocker’s expectations.
  • Will need to have the ability to be a partner with commercial VP for region to help ensure 3PL can execute their vision as it evolves in the long range plan
  • Will be a direct point of contact for VP of Commercial, Canada region for any escalations related to the performance of the 3PL provider.
  • Responsible for developing annual budgets for 3PL in partnership with finance based on previous years’ performance & new business objectives.
  • Foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Four plus years of management experience in a Distribution Center environment preferred
  • Experience managing cost with a distribution setting
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing or 6-sigma preferred
  • CPIM certification preferred
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate with customers, associates, and senior management
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • An ability to think strategically and plan over a 3-6 month time span
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Technical skills in materials and inventory management, production scheduling, and preventive maintenance

Benefits The annual base salary range is CAD 100000 - CAD 120000 / year. This range represents the anticipated low and high ends of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
