About the role
MAIN DUTIES:

Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents; push and pull cleaning cart, use vacuum cleaner.

Strip and make beds, change bed linens, dust all furniture, clean window ledges and shelves, restock / replenish bathroom amenities, kitchenette supplies.

Visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance.

Maintain assigned cart in an organized manner, re-stock the cart at the end of the shift.

Report any lost and found items following company?s procedures

Understand the correct usage and storage of cleaning chemicals in line with health and safety regulations, and manufacturer?s instructions.

Use and clean equipment with care reporting any defective equipment to the immediate supervisor and/or maintenance staff.

Carry out opening and closing procedures while ensuring accurate completion of any shift paperwork.

Perform deep cleaning duties as allocated by the Department Head.

Use hotel assets, including equipment provided for work, guest room supplies and amenities in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have the ability to communicate and understand instructions in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance at all times. Must communicate with guests in a friendly and respectful manner. Must be willing to ?pitch-in? and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Prior experience, knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment is an asset. Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing 50lbs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.10 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Barrie, ON L4N 9Y4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
