Job Summary
For the Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst I position, their primary role is to test internal business applications and customer-facing websites. The QA Analyst I must be able to work with our QA Manager, peer QA/developers and business sponsors to deliver a quality solution to our business stakeholders. The QA Analyst I will be supporting Olympia’s in-house application development by writing test cases and testing/reporting defects through proper QA processes.
The Quality Assurance Analyst I must be able to deliver results in a dynamic and team-oriented environment. They must be able to multitask and able to thrive in an ever-changing environment, build relationships naturally, adapt quickly, and communicate effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Uphold the division and Olympia’s reputation and values, while promoting our motto “With Us, It’s Personal” in all interactions with employees, clients, and business associates.
- Perform functional testing, GUI testing, tracking defects, as well as troubleshooting issues.
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to create and execute software test cases.
- Understand and complete QA deployment processes by reviewing tickets for deployment, creating pull requests, working with QA and Devs to complete deployment.
- Submit and track defects for resolution by software developers.
- Provide support to internal users via phone, e-mail and on occasion through meetings.
- Identify, diagnose, report, and assist developers in resolving defects and verifying bug fixes.
- Provide clear, concise, documentation to support end users.
- Decipher and translate business logic into test plans on ADO.
- Execute day-to-day operational activities to maintain effective and efficient service.
- Flexible to perform various assigned tasks as requested by management and executives.

Formal Education & Experience
- High school Diploma is required.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analyst or comparable experience (2+ years) is an asset.
- Completion of ISTQB Foundation level or complete certification is an asset.
- 1-3 years of proven work experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or similar role.
Specialized Skills & Knowledge
- Training and experience with Product Acceptance Testing is required.
- Training and experience with testing documentation (Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports, Change Requests) is required.
- Understanding of Web and Application Services is required.
- Understanding of Azure DevOps (ADO) or Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS) is an asset.
- Experience with Telerik and Telerik Test Studio is an asset.
- An understanding of database fundamentals, TSQL and/or equivalent database experience.
- Exposure to the agile development methodology, iterative development, and testing knowledge.
- Continuous Integration and Deployment skills are an asset.
- Financial applications experience is an asset.
- C# and JavaScript programming knowledge are a benefit.
- Training and/or experience with managing/logging incidents reports.
- Experience with Selenium RC and Selenium Web Driver are an asset.
