Cyber Systems Administrator
**Reports To:**Manager, Infrastructure, Cloud & Security
**Location:**Winnipeg, Manitoba, Hybrid or Remote
Summary: The Cyber Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, operation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s cybersecurity technologies, controls, and monitoring capabilities.
This role plays a critical part in protecting enterprise systems, data, and users from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with regulatory, audit, and security requirements.
The role is hands on and operational, with accountability for day to day security platform management, threat detection and response, identity and access controls, and security tooling across cloud and SaaS environments. The Cyber Systems Administrator works closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Application, Service Operations, Risk, and Audit teams to maintain a strong security posture and operational resilience.
Major Responsibilities: Cybersecurity Operations & Threat Management
Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity platforms, including managed detection and response (MDR), endpoint protection, firewalls, and related security technologies.
Monitor security alerts, logs, and threat intelligence feeds; investigate and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
Participate in security incident response activities, including containment, remediation, and post incident review, in coordination with Incident Management and Service Operations.
Conduct regular vulnerability scanning, configuration reviews, and security health checks to identify and mitigate risk.
Continuously improve detection, response, and monitoring capabilities.
Cloud, Identity & Platform Security
Administer and secure Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and related cloud and SaaS environments.
Manage identity and access management (IAM), including authentication, authorization, privileged access, and role based access controls.
Support secure configuration of cloud workloads, endpoints, and collaboration platforms.
Partner with Infrastructure and Cloud teams to ensure security is embedded into platform design and operations.
Security Engineering & Tooling
Configure, integrate, and optimize security tools across the enterprise technology stack.
Support onboarding, tuning, and lifecycle management of security technologies.
Evaluate emerging threats and technologies, recommending improvements to security tooling and controls.
Ensure security platforms are reliable, well documented, and operationally supported.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Support
Ensure security controls and processes align with regulatory expectations, including OSFI and other applicable frameworks.
Prepare documentation, evidence, and artifacts for internal and external audits.
Support risk assessments, control testing, and remediation activities.
Maintain accurate security documentation, standards, and procedures.
Security Awareness & Enablement
Support the delivery and administration of cybersecurity awareness and training programs.
Contribute to phishing simulations, policy education, and user focused security initiatives.
Promote a strong security culture across the organization.

Experience
and Skills
7+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity administration, security engineering, or related technical roles.
Hands on experience administering enterprise security platforms, including endpoint protection, MDR/SIEM, firewalls, and identity solutions.
Strong experience securing cloud and SaaS environments, particularly Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Purview, and security technologies such as Arctic Wolf MDR, ESET, and Fortinet.
Experience working in regulated or control oriented environments, with exposure to audit, compliance, and risk management processes.
Demonstrated ability to respond to and manage security incidents in a structured, disciplined manner.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
Clear and effective communication skills with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Cybersecurity operations and incident response
In-depth understanding of OSFI regulations, compliance frameworks, and audit processes.
Identity and access management (IAM)
Endpoint protection and MDR/SIEM platforms
Network security and firewall technologies
Vulnerability management and remediation
Security logging, monitoring, and alerting

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, Azure Security Engineer, or Fortinet NSE.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in DevOps and modern engineering practices.
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
Canada – Manitoba:$64,000-$85,000 CAD / Annual
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role and level. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
