Role Summary: As part of the Safety & Compliance team, the Compliance Assistant is responsible for maintaining data and files to ensure all Company Drivers and Owner/Operators are following regulatory and legislative requirements.

The Compliance Assistant is responsible for assisting with driver inquiries regarding renewal of driver’s license, passports, Ontario medicals, fuel card issues, certificates of violations and dangerous goods cards. This role is also responsible for providing administrative support to the Safety and Compliance department.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

Work Arrangement: On-site

Compensation: Salary Range: $45,000 to $50,000

Key Accountabilities: In this role, you will:

  • Ensure adherence to Canadian and U.S. regulatory requirements for our trucks, trailers and drivers

  • Update documents and maintain files/systems to be audit ready by being compliant with MTO/FMCSA regulations

  • Complete data entry into internal systems (TMW, ISAAC, EFS etc)

  • Respond to internal driver inquiries in person, by phone and electronically

  • Occasionally act as a coordinator for new drivers attending orientation

  • Complete licensing transactions for trucks and trailers with Service Ontario and IRP

  • Coordinate new trucks and trailers coming onto the fleet by occasionally acting as a key point of contact between internal teams, vendors, and owner operators

  • Coordinate, schedule and track the DOT Random Drug and Alcohol program

  • Prepare documents for drivers and owner operators (EG. creating letters, sending logs)

  • Performs administrative tasks such as Driver file projects and yearly qualification pull

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings:

Education & Experience:

  • Secondary School Diploma

  • 2+ years in a related compliance field

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to manage competing and conflicting priorities

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Reliable attendance and strong organizational skills
