The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) is a dynamic Catholic school board committed to the delivery of quality educational programs and services from a Catholic faith perspective. DPCDSB, one of Ontario’s largest school boards, is comprised of approximately 71,000 students enrolled in 151 schools (125 elementary and 26 secondary) throughout the diverse GTA municipalities of Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, and Orangeville. DPCDSB employs approximately 8,000 faculty and staff to deliver and support its Catholic educational mission.

Educational Resource Worker (ERW)/ Educational Assistant (EA)

Educational Resource Workers work as collaborative team members to facilitate the inclusion of students with differing abilities/diverse learning needs. The Educational Resource Worker is assigned to a Family of Schools and is accountable to the School Principal and/or designate. Actual duties are assigned as determined by students’ needs as per Ministry of Education regulations and Board policies, procedures, and practices.

Salary

  • $27.91/hour (Daily Supply)

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Educational Assistant (EA), or equivalent as deemed by the Employer.

Or

  • Secondary school diploma with entry level knowledge of Early Childhood Education (ECE) (EA) practices.

Additional Qualifications / Additional Experience:

  • 1 Year experience working with students with differing abilities/diverse learning needs preferred.
  • May be required to receive training in CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and/or other emergency techniques.
  • Ability to work with differing abilities/diverse learning needs, strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills, ability to work as team member, flexibility, high degree of sensitivity and diplomacy, good organizational skills, experience in use of computer technology and/or other communication supports as appropriate, ability to deal with potentially stressful and emergent situations.
