Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Insurance Education & Engagement / Inside Sales Representative, develops contacts and business relationships with medical schools and universities, OMA, Canadian Medical Association (CMA), local medical student societies and other medical associations.

This position engages and educates members, medical students, residents and other physicians about the role and importance, value, and capabilities of OMA Insurance, products and services.

How You Will Make a Difference

Identifying opportunities to present and educate medical students, residents and practicing physicians on the importance of insurance products and services available through OMA Insurance, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ontario Medical Association Creating and delivering presentations, coordinating events and seminars, and developing social media presence and communications. Identifying opportunities to sell medical students and residents OMA Insurance products while also identifying the need for deeper reviews for insurance advice, referring members seeking advice to OMA Insurance advisors in order to meet certain team goals and targets. Developing and implementing an Education and Engagement plan to ensure targets are met for events, outreach and application goals. Coordinating and maintaining a schedule of planned educational and engagement initiatives. Researching, collecting and providing insights to internal and external stakeholders from market interactions, including competitive intelligence, environmental issues, membership, educational and licensing requirements, and other issues that may impact members and OMA Insurance's ability to achieve its goals.

Requirements That Are Important To Us

University Degree or College Diploma in Finance, Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration Three to four years of relevant experience creating and delivering presentations to large groups of people.

Possess the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) Certificate

intermediate to advanced presentation, content development and communications skills, leadership, public speaking skills[MH1.1] and consultation skills. Valid Ontario Driver’s license with access to a registered vehicle with some travel within Ontario required

Asset qualifications/experiences

Group and individual insurance knowledge an asset

Sales, Business Development and Marketing experience CFP (Certified Financial Planner) Designation Specialized Knowledge with retirement product such as RRSP, TFSA, annuities, and retirement planning knowledge is an asset. Fluent in French is an asset.

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office. This position also requires travel within the assigned region on a as needed basis.
