Job Overview

The Business Development Analyst is responsible for driving new business growth within the Canadian market, identifying and onboarding corporate and institutional clients, and building long-term relationships built on trust and service excellence. The role combines high-volume outbound sales activity with a strong focus on compliance, risk management, and client due diligence, ensuring all business brought onboard meets Monex's regulatory and quality standards. This role requires resilience, commercial acumen, and a disciplined approach to pipeline management and regulatory obligations. All staff, including this role, are required to act in accordance with the Monex Code of Conduct as detailed in their contract of employment, the Employee Handbook, and related policies, including compliance with PIPEDA and applicable Canadian regulatory requirements for all client and employee data.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Related Activity – Canada Only Conduct research to identify and target potential clients to generate new business opportunities Conduct high volume outbound sales calls (80 dials/day) Minimum 90 minutes talk time (average) per day 16 qualified opportunities per month Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, and potential clients through networking, cold calling, email outreach, and other methods Along with Director, present and promote the company's foreign exchange products and services to potential clients, emphasizing their unique value propositions and benefits Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and research, to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies and initiatives Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify potential risks and opportunities within the foreign exchange industry Provide regular sales reports and updates to management, including pipeline analysis, revenue forecasts, and progress towards sales targets Continuously update knowledge of the foreign exchange market, industry best practices, and emerging trends to effectively position the company in the market Maintain current market knowledge (e.g. reading financial press, attending webinars, etc.)

Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast

Meet set sales targets/KPIs on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis Keep accurate records and client interaction notes in the Company database FXDB, in line with PIPEDA requirements Diligently assess the needs and expectations of clients brought onboard Ensure thorough research and analysis of client requirements to guarantee optimal service provision and customer satisfaction Verify the authenticity and legitimacy of clients brought onboard, safeguarding against the inclusion of false or fraudulent individuals or entities in the company's clientele Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Work effectively and collaboratively with Financial Crime and Regulatory Compliance teams to complete the client onboarding process in line with Company and applicable Canadian regulatory requirements Ensure adequate knowledge of the client (KYC) to enable the firm to deliver appropriate and suitable products and services Liaise with Risk and Traders regarding margin facilities Engage with clients with integrity, ensuring high service standards and in accordance with Monex policies Understand and adhere to Monex's complaints procedure, escalating where necessary Identify and appropriately manage conflicts of interest in accordance with regulatory and company requirements Ensure that the role as first-line defence is undertaken with diligence Ensure adherence with Monex's Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) compliance framework and other applicable Canadian regulatory principles governing the conduct of financial services business The contents of this job description are not exhaustive. Required Skills and Qualifications
