About the role

A career as a Senior Analyst Data and Providers Governance in the Financial Market Operations team means acting as an expert in market and reference data. It allows you to have a positive impact on our organization through your knowledge of financial instruments and data governance.

Your Role

  • Establish, maintain, and improve the governance process for reference data contracts
  • Analyze costs related to our use of data to identify and achieve budget savings.
  • Document data flows from providers and monitor change notifications.
  • Maintain data documentation in the data management system (data catalog) and ensure compliance by documenting users and data usage.
  • Contribute to team projects and actively participate in IT scrum to ensure business continuity and prioritize various initiatives.
  • Represent National Bank of Canada and Financial Markets Operations in various external forums and stay up to date with industry best practices.
  • Propose improvement ideas and better working methods.
  • Provide a central platform for delivering market and reference data across the Bank.

Your Team

You will be part of a team of 20 dynamic analysts and advisors in the Financial Operations Market, and you will report to the Senior Director, Market Parameters. The team’s mission is to provide high-quality data to actively support strategies across all business sectors. This role allows you to pursue your ambitions with collaboration and empowerment. Through your involvement in various market and reference data processes, you actively contribute to the Bank’s transformation.

Prerequisites

  • Relevant experience in data governance, vendor management, and budget analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of market data and financial data providers.
  • Experience in documenting data flows and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in project management and participation in agile teams (scrum).
  • Proficiency in data manipulation tools (Python, SQL, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset, rigor, and autonomy.
  • Ability to represent the organization in external forums.

Languages:

English, French
