Your Role
Oversee all aspects of fleet maintenance, including developing and managing preventive maintenance schedules for vehicles and equipment. Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions, using advanced diagnostic tools and software. Supervise, train, and support a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring work quality meets company standards. Implement and maintain safety protocols within the maintenance facility, promoting a culture of safety and compliance. Plan, schedule, and coordinate inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, working closely with dispatch, operators, vendors, and clients. Analyze maintenance costs, manage inventory, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency. Ensure work orders are completed accurately and maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, parts, and supplies used. Report and address safety concerns, equipment hazards, and corrective actions, keeping leadership informed of significant issues. Maintain shop equipment and tooling to ensure safety, functionality, cleanliness, and longevity. Assist with toolbox meetings and ongoing technical and safety training initiatives for the maintenance team. Communicate vehicle availability and maintenance status to dispatch and operations personnel. Support troubleshooting, road calls, emergency repairs, and vehicle recovery activities as required. Oversee third-party contractors and specialized repair vendors when external services are required. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a safe, reliable fleet and support operational goals. Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and Transdev standards, policies, and procedures. Perform additional duties as required to support fleet operations.

Your Profile
Red Seal certification as an Automotive Service Technician
Alberta Vehicle Inspection Program certification, or the ability to obtain the required certification. Three to five years of experience maintaining passenger transportation vehicles, commercial vehicles, or comparable fleet equipment. Previous experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or training mechanics and apprentices is preferred. Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence with a safe driving record. Appropriate mechanic’s tool set. Advanced diagnostic and problem-solving ability. Experience using computerized diagnostic tools and maintenance or work-order management systems. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Hexagon EAM or a similar maintenance system is an asset. Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience coordinating preventive maintenance, inventory, vendors, and repair priorities. Ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced maintenance environment. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative operations team.
Your Location
This is a full-time position based in Calgary, Alberta, supporting Transdev’s School Bus division. The regular work schedule consists of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Flexibility may be required to support road calls, emergency repairs, operational requirements, or other maintenance priorities.
