Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager of the Emerging Adult Treatment Clinic, this mobile, advanced Family Counsellor position supports the development and implementation of an evidence-based Emerging Adult model of care at several sites across the Calgary corridor. This position will also work in coordination with a Project Manager, Research team, Emerging Adults, and community-based partners to engage Emerging Adults, parents, interest holders and service providers in co-design sessions for the design and implementation of a new clinical service that will expand the current model of care. The position is mobile and flexible to meet the needs of multiple clinical areas and the scope of the project. Some evening and weekend work is expected within the context of a rotation. The position is assigned to the Emerging Adult Hub Services but may be assigned to another service within the Emerging Adult Service according to client and operational needs. The 1-year temporary full-time position will also provide clinical support for groups, walk-in services as well as consultation and capacity-building for staff around working with the Emerging Adult population (18-29) who present with complex and co-occurring mental health disorders and associated cognitive, behavioral and emotional issues. This position will not carry a clinical caseload but demands both clinical and systems expertise, and excellent knowledge of change-management. As a member of a team and within the context of family-centered care, the Family Counsellor facilitates the integration of Emerging Adult Services at local sites to provide optimal client service and supports the Emerging Adult Hub services to adapt to meet the needs of this population. The candidate must have strong assessment and therapy skills specific to the Emerging Adult population and be knowledgeable about community resources.
