The role
We are looking for a Revitalization Planning Improvement Specialist to support the Chief Information Officer Branch (CIOB) branch in achieving its vision and mandate. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in change management, organizational transformation, and process improvement, playing a key role in driving cultural and operational change across CIOB and the NRC.
The Specialist will work closely with the Director of Branch Strategy, Operations, and Planning, as well as with managers, project teams, and stakeholders, to design, implement, and embed change management strategies that enable a smooth transition from the current state to the desired future state. This role will focus on fostering a customer service culture, ensuring alignment between leadership and stakeholders, and supporting the successful delivery of operational, strategic, and innovation initiatives.
The position requires a collaborative, strategic, and hands-on approach, with responsibility for both planning and executing change management activities that accelerate adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
Key Activities Include:

Develops and implements change management strategies and plans to enable smooth organizational, process, and cultural transitions with minimal business disruption.

Leads change management components of initiatives by defining objectives, deliverables, timelines, and ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

Engages and consults with stakeholders to build leadership alignment, secure buy‑in, and maintain open, consistent communication throughout initiatives.

Designs and delivers communication and training programs to prepare employees and managers for new processes, systems, and roles.

Facilitates workshops, meetings, and readiness assessments to support organizational adoption of change and integration of new functions.

Monitors, tracks, and reports on progress against change management plans, providing recommendations to the Director of Branch Strategy, Operations, and Planning.

Supports the prioritization and deployment of multiple initiatives including operational, strategic, and innovation projects.

Provides expert change management advice and tools to project teams and senior leadership to address change-related challenges.

Education
Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in the natural, computer or social sciences, business, economics or public administration or another specialty relevant to the position.
Certifications or professional designation would be considered an asset.

Experience

Experience in change management including the design, implementation, and evaluation of organizational, process, and cultural change initiatives.

Experience leading projects from planning through execution, with demonstrated success in achieving adoption and measurable outcomes.

Experience facilitating engagement including consultations, workshops, and/or communications with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Experience developing and delivering communication and training strategies to support organizational change and workforce readiness.

Compensation
From $118,246,874 to $142,767 per annum.
The intent of this hiring action is to staff this position at the ACRO - SRO level, which is a mid-career level position with a salary range of $117,341 to $164,894.
NOTE: Please note that the full RO/RCO salary scale has five levels. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate’s expertise, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As such, the initial salary could be within another level of the RO/RCO salary scale (i.e. above or below the intended level for this position).
In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.

The role
