JOB SUMMARY:The Edmundston Regional Hospital, New Brunswick, is seeking full-time pediatricians. Successful candidates will perform their duties, including the diagnosis, care and treatment of medical disorders within their specialty, with considerable clinical independence.?The pediatrician exercises independent medical judgment in performing their duties, delivers services to inpatients and outpatients, and acts as a consultant to other physicians.?The pediatrician will be responsible for delivering pediatric care to patients in Zones 5 and 6, with the support of affiliated tertiary centres.This position involves professional medical work performed by a certified specialist (a physician with a specialty certification recognized by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick). Functions relating to the diagnosis, care and treatment of medical problems within the scope of the pediatrician's specialty are performed with a high degree of autonomy, but findings and observations may be subject to supervision and evaluation by the Department (program) Head / Program Director in which the physician works. Work may also be reviewed by Local and Regional Chiefs of Staff and the Medical Director for the zone. The physician works in accordance with the By-Laws of Vitalité Health Network. REQUIREMENTS: Degree from a recognized medical school and residency granting a licence in pediatrics;Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) or equivalent; Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick;Ability to work independently and as part of a team;Physical ability to perform the assigned work;Good work history (performance and attendance); Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values;Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.Knowledge of French, spoken and written, is an asset.NOTES:The remuneration is based on a salary model with benefits.Moving expenses allowance.Possibility of a recruitment incentive depending on eligibility, as determined by the Department of Health (return of service required).This job is also posted on NBhealthjobs.For more information about Vitalite Health Network, please visit the Network's website.For more information about the community, please visit the City of Bathurst's website.The above requirements may be verified through oral, written or practical tests during the selection process.Should there be no fully qualified applicants, this position will not necessarily be reposted.
