POSITION SUMMARY

Provide materials testing capability in support of the Technical Centre activities and maintenance of Standards Council of Canada accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. Maintain and operate lab equipment, prepare samples and calibration standard, enter data and generate test reports and conduct calibration checks.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate and maintain equipment and facilities.

2. Participate on the Quality team in fulfilment of SCC accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025.

3. Assist Lab Manager with the management of the laboratory QMS (ISO/IEC 17025).

4. Calibrate and check calibration of equipment and measuring devices as required.

5. Test and evaluate company products.

6. Conduct materials testing (tensile, compressive, etc) of polystyrene foam products as per SCC scope of accreditation.

7. Conduct chemical testing of polystyrene using GC, HPLC, Karl Fischer Titration.

8. Maintain testing schedules.

9. Ensure traceability of samples, tests and results.

10. Report operations and results.

11. Maintain the integrity of the testing process.

12. Assist with other Technical Centre activities.

13. Order lab supplies and equipment.

14. Meet all safety requirements and regulations.

15. Ensure a clean work environment.

16. Follow company policies and procedures.

Education Qualifications

College diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Technology (or similar) or BSc. in related discipline.
