Merch Systems Controller - Assortment Support
About the role
What you’ll do
Reporting to Manager, Merchandise Data Governance, this role is responsible for supporting the Merchandising Team with our Assortment Tools, including our Assortment Workbook (AWB), Assortment Optimization Tool (AOT), and our Forecasting, Allocation & Replenishment Application (FAR) – AOT & FAR are both part of our 09 solutions . They will also support in the continuous improvements of these tools and maintain the data integrity. This will include working with various other teams, including the PMM Merch Services Controller, the Forecasting & Investments Support (FIS) team, the Capability team, the IT Department, as well as direct business partners in Allocation & Merchandising to ensure the integrity and configuration of all systems used by General Merchandising is protected. Furthermore, this role will play a central part in the on-going process improvement of these applications where business procedures are supported systemically.
Systems Management & Maintenance:
- Manages user requirements and requests, utilizing established processes and standards. Attend meetings with Business, FIS, o9 and IT representatives to gather feedback and business requirements working with the relevant teams to solution and deliver
- Oversees that data integrity of the o9 Systems parameters (i.e.: attribute maintenance)
- Enables effective and comprehensive system administration related communication throughout the Merchandising Department
Process Improvement:
- Manages business requirement documentation for any enhancements and changes to solutions or tools
- Works with the Manager of Capability to identify and provide training enhancements on solutions and processes
- Updates business processes and solutions to achieve leading practice acceptance.
- Work with appropriate business partners on any system changes and improvements and other business impacting solutions
Front-End User Support:
- Grow and maintain a comprehensive understanding of both 09 tools & the Assortment Workbook
- Facilitate and support users during pre-scheduled Open Support Hours for live troubleshooting and support
- Monitor other support channels for user support requests or system issues
- Investigate issues that can not be solved in real-time
- Escalate issues to Leaders & FIS team, when required
What you bring
- Previous working knowledge of Merchandising systems (ex: Assortment Tools, PMM) and merchandise business processes is an asset.
- Intermediate understanding of databases such as SQL Server, Oracle.
- Proven ability to create and update SQL scripts to aid in basic upkeep, minor upgrades and investigating user issues.
- Advanced skills in Excel – including VBA & Macros - for maintaining and updating End User Computation tools.
- Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools including Synapse.
- Presentation skills – ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.
- Strong communicator to work with the business, IT, & leaders.
- Does require on-call support, outside of regular business hours.
