Our goal is to demonstrate leadership and provide support to residents, businesses and institutions to act as stewards of the environment. By promoting waste prevention, waste reduction, reuse of materials and circular economy initiatives, Waste Services contributes to the City’s Corporate outcomes and the goals established in the 25-year Waste Strategy. This is overlaid with the commitment to maintaining stable and consistent utility rates ensuring services are continually improved and optimized to provide value for Edmontonians.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, Waste Services, the Director of Business Integration and Technical Services is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the integration of advanced technical solutions, business strategy and performance excellence. The role acts as a bridge between technical execution and the City’s objectives, leveraging data-driven insights, fostering strategic partnerships, and cultivating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement to meet the immediate and long-term needs of the City and Edmontonians.

  • Lead the development of the Branch’s performance measurement framework through reliable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets for Branch services, overseeing the creation of operational dashboards and quarterly business reporting
  • Govern the lifecycle management of procurement and contract management for the Branch, ensuring alignment with corporate policies
  • Lead Branch-wide program and service design through a customer-focused lens to close the gap between customer expectations and service delivery
  • Drive business performance measurement, continuous improvement, and contract management across Waste Services, utilizing data, analytics, and service design principles to optimize operations and enhance customer experience
