Position Summary
HTS is seeking a driven, detail-oriented individual to join our team in a progressive role designed to evolve into full leadership of our warehouse and logistics functions. As a potential future Warehouse & Logistics Manager, you will be mentored by senior leadership to gradually take on increasing responsibility across our end-to-end operations within one of North America's largest HVAC distribution networks. Over time, you will be empowered to lead teams, manage freight and inventory, and drive operational excellence across warehouse and site delivery functions.
Key Responsibilities
**Warehouse Operations:**Initially:
- Support daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, staging, and shipping HVAC equipment and parts.
- Learn and follow safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures.
Over time:
- Assist in optimizing warehouse layout and material flow.
- Lead and oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cleanliness.
Inventory Management: Initially:
- Learn to manage inventory using our ERP system (TRAX).
- Support physical inventory checks.
Over time:
- Maintain full ownership of inventory accuracy and reporting.
- Implement best practices for inventory control and loss prevention.
**Logistics & Freight Coordination:**Initially:
- Assist in scheduling freight carriers and preparing shipments.
- Learn customer delivery expectations and shipping documentation processes.
Over time:
- Manage freight coordination, delivery timelines, and special shipment requirements.
- Oversee re-freight operations and ensure timely, damage-free deliveries.
- Coordinate storage and staging of large HVAC equipment.
**Team Leadership:**Initially:
- Support daily tasks across warehouse and logistics teams.
- Observe leadership practices and participate in team meetings.
Over time:
- Supervise, train, and support warehouse staff, drivers, and logistics personnel.
- Help establish KPIs, monitor performance, and cultivate a safety-first, improvement-oriented culture.
**Project & Site Delivery Support:**Initially:
- Shadow site delivery planning with logistics coordinators
- Assist in prepping shipments for job-specific needs.
Over time:
- Lead delivery planning for complex job sites, including timing, access restrictions, and offloading logistics for HVAC units such as AHUs, chillers, and rooftop units.
**Vendor & Supplier Management:**Initially:
- Support communication with manufacturing partners regarding shipment updates.
- Learn tracking tools and how to flag delivery delays or issues.
Over time:
- Build strong relationships with vendors and proactively manage inbound logistics.
- Coordinate with suppliers on storage needs, lead times, and freight accuracy.
Hourly Pay Range: $37-$42
