About the role

Brandon University seeks a student-focused and dynamic professional to serve as the full-time Director, Recruitment and Retention for a one-year term. Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director facilitates and supports student-centered recruitment and retention initiatives, provides leadership and guidance to students, develops programs, policies and procedures, and models inclusiveness and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

The position leads the University’s recruitment and retention initiatives, including the development, implementation, and ongoing management of strategic plans in these areas. This role supervises Student Success Officers, Student Engagement Officers, and student assistants while also providing direct support to Academic Advisors. Key responsibilities include coordinating University resources to guide students from application through to enrolment; leading marketing and communications to support student transition; managing orientation and first-year student initiatives; working closely with schools and community partners to build relationships and enhance recruitment and retention partnerships; expanding learning community programs; and assessing and developing programming to meet evolving campus needs. Additionally, the role involves budget management and supporting the implementation and use of the University’s new Client Resources Management (CRM) system.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a post-secondary degree or equivalent in a related field, along with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar role. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience within a post-secondary environment is preferred. Demonstrated leadership in recruitment, admissions, or student services is an asset, as is experience managing a CRM system for recruitment purposes.

Salary: Managers & Professional Officers MPO -VI, $101,175.00 – $128,018.00
