SGGG Fund Services Inc. (SGGG-FSI) is currently seeking to fill a full-time permanent position for the role of Sr. System Administrator .The successful candidate joining our technology team will be energetic, enthusiastic and reliable, and will have the opportunity to participate in the delivery of financial services industry leading software.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Team Lead, IT Infrastructure & Operations , the Sr. System Administrator position is responsible to develop and maintain SGGG-FSI Diamond, Microsoft Windows server and SQL database environment, and manage the network and cybersecurity infrastructure across two data centers and Azure Cloud Platform. The role will have responsibility to assist software developers in the delivery of applications which meet the needs of users, in a timely and effective manner. You will also work with the Chief Technology Officer in creating a network infrastructure roadmap to maximize the organization’s investments in hardware and software technologies.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute on technology initiatives utilizing project management best practices during regular and after business hours periods.
- Utilize full project life-cycle methodologies (research, planning, design, implementation, testing, documentation, post-implementation support) to bring projects to timely completion.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain server, database, and network infrastructure solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Proactively monitor and tune corporate database and infrastructure environments for optimum performance. Monitor system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization, and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
- Perform regular daily and weekly operational tasks to ensure corporate cybersecurity infrastructure and network/computing infrastructure operates optimally. Plan for hardware or software upgrades/patches.
- Perform backup duties on Microsoft SQL and Windows servers and monitor database replication.
- Research, evaluate and make recommendations on software products and tools related to database, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management.
- Build relationships with consultants for technology expertise and project implementation.
- Support software developers in development and deployment of the Diamond system and investor portal.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation diagrams of network and server infrastructure.
- Provides support for escalated help desk requests.
Qualifications
Technical
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in a Microsoft server environment, MSCE is an asset.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Azure environment, Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certified is an asset.
- 5+ years of Microsoft SQL administration , configuration, installation, and maintenance.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in a Cisco router, switch, and firewall environment . Cisco CCNA or CCNP is desired , but not required in lieu of experience configuring Cisco switches and routers.
- Experience in performance monitoring of servers, databases and networks.
- Experience in managing enterprise level anti-virus and anti-malware hosted solutions.
Work Experience
- 8+ years of Windows server and network infrastructure administration experience.
- 5+ years Azure cloud infrastructure administration experience.
- 5+ years of database development and administration experience.
- Knowledge of the investment fund industry systems, operations, technical and business processes ( an asset, but not required ).
Education
- University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science ( or equivalent experience in the field ).
- Preference will be given to applicants with relevant certificates and training in Information Technology.
- Preference will be given to applicants with current training and skill sets.
Soft Skills
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-driven, and ability to work with minimal supervision to prioritize and manage work.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
