About the role
About the Role: The Documentation Specialist supports the Group Packaging Development team by managing and maintaining accurate packaging documentation and specifications. This role is responsible for reviewing existing specifications, creating documentation for new packaging projects, coordinating information with cross-functional partners, and supporting documentation optimization initiatives. The Documentation Specialist ensures packaging records are complete, current, and aligned with operational and business needs. This is an 8-12 month contract position.
Main Responsibilities: Documentation & Specifications
- Review, verify, and update existing packaging specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Create and maintain specification packages for new packaging development projects.
- Maintain organized, up-to-date documentation databases and records.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate packaging information with Packaging Development, Production, Operations, Procurement, and Sustainability teams.
- Obtain and consolidate technical data, samples, and documentation required for new packaging initiatives.
- Support effective information flow between packaging development and manufacturing teams.
Tracking & Reporting
- Support documentation tracking and optimization initiatives.
- Maintain clear records and report documentation status and progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure transparency and alignment with project and business priorities.
Project Support
- Assist with new packaging development projects and ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Provide documentation support to enable timely execution of packaging programs.
About You:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Understanding of Design programs (e.g. AutoCAD, ArtiosCAD,CAPE)
- SAP knowledge an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Strong organization skills
- Accountability and reliability
- Attention to detail
Education
- Postsecondary education required (Packaging, Engineering, Technical Documentation, or related field preferred)
