About the role
Job Description AAA Canada is currently looking for a Pipefitter / Industrial Mechanic to bring their expertise to our team. Under the supervision of the foreman, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, adjustment, and fastening of mechanical components related to piping, ventilation, heating, air conditioning (HVAC), marine mechanics, and metal cabinetry systems. This versatile position will allow you to work both in the workshop and onboard ships, within a technical, stimulating, and highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Assemble, adjust, and install complex mechanical equipment.
- Perform the assembly and installation of components related to HVAC, piping, and marine mechanical systems.
- Carry out pressure tests, mechanical adjustments, and functional checks.
- Participate in system commissioning onboard ships.
- Use hand and power tools, as well as lifting equipment.
- Operate forklifts or trucks as required.
- Work in compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 4 days x 10 hours per week
- Evening shift: 4 evenings x 10 hours per week
- Weekend shift: 3 days x 12 hours (paid for 40 hours)
Skills And Qualifications
- DEP (Vocational Diploma) in Heavy Machinery, Marine Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, or Plumbing and Heating (Pipefitting),
- OR a valid CCQ card (1st-year apprentice or journeyperson).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans and technical diagrams.
- Good manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork, autonomy, and commitment to quality work.
- Must successfully complete a federal security clearance process (resided in Canada for at least 5 consecutive years without interruptions exceeding 6 months).
