About the role
As our company rapidly scales its data center operations, we’re looking for a hands-on, people-focused HR Generalist based in Canada to support alongside our HR Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a people-first culture and deliver professional HR support at every stage of our growth.
In this fully remote role , you will assist the HR Manager in delivering consistent HR support for or US and Canadian on-site and remote employees. Your work will include supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, health & safety initiatives and other HR programs. You will play a key part in shaping processes, coordinating tasks, and supporting employees and managers as we grow.
What You’ll Be Contributing
- Support day-to-day HR activities for employees and managers.
- Provide consultative guidance, coaching, and support to leaders and employees to ensure alignment with company policies, business goals, and operational needs.
- Assist with recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions, including screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires.
- Conduct and continuously improve new hire orientations to set employees up for success.
- Support the administration of compensation, benefits, and leave programs; act as a liaison between employees and corporate teams as needed.
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment that reflects of our company culture and values.
- Assist with implementing organizational development initiatives, employee relations strategies, and performance management processes.
- Coordinate Health & Safety initiatives in partnership with local management, promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and complete transactions in the HRIS system, ensuring confidentiality.
- Track and manage Workers Compensation, FMLA, and other leave programs in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
- Stay informed on employment legislation, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and reduce risk exposure.
What Sets You Apart
- 3-4 years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist or similar role, ideally in operational manufacturing, or data center environments.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CHRP or CHRA designation (or in progress) is an asset.
- Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with employees at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills. Bilingualism (French and English) is essential in this role, as the HR Generalist will support employees and managers across the organization, facilitate effective communication, and ensure compliance with provincial and federal requirements in both Canada and the United States.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and HRIS systems.
- Ability to travel if needed.
