KPMG’s Immigration Law practice is looking for an Immigration Coordinator, to join our Immigration Law group to support daily clerical and administrative activities. The Immigration Coordinator is responsible for preparing and drafting legal arguments in support of various Canadian immigration applications and associated status and entry document applications.

This role requires an exceptional command of the English language, excellent time management & multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and an ability to work well in a team environment.

KPMG Law LLP is a national law firm with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal. Our assistants work closely with the lawyers to provide a superior client experience. KPMG Law LLP is affiliated with the professional services firm of KPMG LLP.

What you will do

  • Assist with the documentation collection for work permit and permanent residence applications.
  • Research the appropriate legal documents required for the application process and prepare instruction document lists accordingly.
  • Assist with obtaining legal documents (birth certificates, police clearances, etc.).
  • Prepare supporting documents for application packages (letters, application forms, etc.).
  • Conduct all work within established time standards.
  • Develop an informative communication stream with immigration administrators/lawyers.
  • Any duties assigned by the Lawyer/management.

Administration:

  • Ensure that all client correspondence, documents and relevant data fields are recorded in KPMG’s internal database(s).
  • Assist with preparing applications.
  • Respond to clients and/or vendors regarding invoice related matters.
  • Prepare files for billing once the immigration process is complete.
  • Filing, photocopying and mailing/courier.
  • Any other administrative responsibilities as required.

What you bring to the role

  • A minimum of two years of experience, ideally in temporary residency, particularly in the field of work permits.
  • College diploma or University degree.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Customer service focused.
  • Knowledge of billing practices and procedures an asset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to locate and research information efficiently, to use it effectively, and to evaluate the quality of the information.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate responsibly and promote effective working relationships.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills like Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This role requires a strong working knowledge of laws and regulations in English - for Canada and abroad- as the person would be working on immigration files- for both internal and external clients across Canada
