About the role
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Metrology Specialist with a strong focus on CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming CMMs using Zeiss Calypso software (any version) and will play a key role in supporting our qualification and supplier accountability processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, develop, and optimize CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso software to support part qualification and supplier accountability.
- Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs and a variety of hand gauging tools (height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
- Communicate inspection requirements and results effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide feedback to engineering and quality teams regarding inspection capabilities during planning and development phases.
- Support and improve inspection processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Complete additional tasks as required to support the metrology and quality teams.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in CMM programming, specifically with Zeiss Calypso software (any version).
- Proficient in the use of hand gauging tools (height gauges, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
- Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and metrology principles.
- Experience with OpenDMIS CMM software is a plus.
- Experience with ERP-based software is a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality assurance environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience supporting supplier quality and accountability processes.
