The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Analyst II - Commercial to join our Commercial Solutions team in Toronto /Sudbury.
This is a permanent onsite position open in Toronto/Sudbury.
As an Analyst II – Commercial, you will manage the administration of the sales and trading of Purchased Feeds, Intermediates and Raw Materials for Vale Base Metals (VBM) by complying with business procedures and contractual terms. In addition, this role supports Vale offtake agreements with external vendors. Support global sales and purchasing administration (Clydach, Sudbury, Thompson, Long Harbour) by responding to the site’s needs . Your experience and skill will allow you to assist in evaluating and planning VBM Intermediate Sales in order to reduce inventory and maximize revenue of products sold. Assists in the management of Raw Materials purchases and their payments in order to fulfill the needs of demand for feed for the operations in a profitable manner.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Support the full sales cycle of Intermediate products for Vale Base Metals, according to business requirements and needs, assuring customer satisfaction and proper record of sales in Vale systems
- Perform month end activities relating to purchased feeds, sales and intermediate materials to meet corporate accounting deadlines
- Liase with External Materials Group, Purchased Feed Manager, Sales and Operational Planning and other key Vale Base Metals stakeholders to support the purchase and sale of material
- Assist with the drafting of commercial contracts and manage the onboarding/set up of new contracts and offtake agreements ensuring compliance with Vale Base Metals policies and procedures
- Manage the daily utilization of SAP for reporting, testing and tracking to ensure business entries are recorded accurately
About You Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Chemical Technical or Engineering background may be considered
Experience:
- 5-7 years of commercial/financial experience
Skills:
- Understanding of financial terms, processes and procedures.
- Independent, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyze complex data.
- Proficiency in data management and reporting software.
- Ability to develop positive relationships and address critical issues with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent computer skills including data base management, SAP, excel, word etc
