About the role
We are currently seeking to fill a Full-Time Accounting Specialist role in our Finance team in Winnipeg, MB.
Position Details:
Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Receivable and Industrial Products Accounting, the Accounting Specialist role is primarily responsible for monitoring, preparing, and invoicing assigned customer accounts, and to perform monthly accounting and reporting for our Industrial Products business unit. The Accounting Specialist applies accounting principles, specifically for tracking, monitoring, and updating financial information in various accounting and operating software. The Specialist will also assist with administrative duties to support the Finance team.
This role will work Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (with some flexibility with start/end times for an 8-hour workday) with either a ½ or 1-hour unpaid lunch provided.
Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Accounting knowledge gained through post-secondary training in accounting
- Accounts Receivable experience an asset
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to process various customer accounts and juggle variety of assignments
- People skills working with customers and collaborating with team members
- Knowledge of accounting software and ability to learn, the Truck Mate, Dynamics Great Plains, Synergize
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Access and Excel
- Excellent time management and organizational skills in handling volume of work, changing demands and various source of information
- Reliability to attend work regularly and on time
- Knowledge of transportation & logistics (over the road, rail and logistics) would be a definite asset
- The successful candidate will require a reliable vehicle as our office is located outside of public transport
